Sussex Dance Academy is a premier dance studio that opened in Georgetown in the fall of 2002. The Academy stresses the teaching of dance through detailed instruction based on proper concepts of dance technique. Proper dance technique, terminology, and injury prevention are all components of a child’s dance education. Our students will gain a solid dance education with well-trained, professional dance educators.
The Academy offers students several opportunities to perform in front of an audience. The annual Dance Showcase takes place each June; Our competition teams give the opportunity to participate in dance competitions and conventions; and Sussex Ballet, our in-house youth ballet company, holds auditions for The Nutcracker each August. In addition, our dancers perform at many community functions and parades.
